Senior Finance Officer at Radiance Microfinance Bank Limited – September 2026

Radiance Microfinance Bank Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join its team as a Senior Finance Officer in Dar es Salaam. The position will support the Head of Finance in managing the Bank’s accounting and financial operations while ensuring accurate records, timely reporting, effective reconciliations, and compliance with applicable financial regulations.

The Senior Finance Officer will handle important financial accounting and reporting activities, including month-end and year-end closing, taxation, budgeting, regulatory returns, financial controls, and audit support. The role requires strong knowledge of IFRS, Tanzanian tax requirements, and Bank of Tanzania regulations, together with the ability to work accurately under strict reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and schedules in accordance with IFRS and the Bank’s accounting policies.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and conduct regular general ledger, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Follow up on outstanding reconciliation items and ensure they are resolved promptly.
• Prepare and post month-end, quarter-end, and year-end journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and amortisation.
• Assist with calculating and recording provisions, impairments, and expected credit losses.
• Ensure balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled before financial close.
• Assist in preparing and submitting Bank of Tanzania prudential and regulatory returns within the required deadlines.
• Monitor changes in regulatory reporting requirements and escalate relevant matters to the Head of Finance.
• Assist in preparing and filing statutory tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, SDL, Withholding Tax, and Corporate Income Tax.
• Liaise with the Tanzania Revenue Authority on tax compliance matters when required.
• Support the preparation of annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.
• Monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets and prepare variance analysis.
• Assist with financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and management reports.
• Process supplier invoices and payment requests while verifying supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate supplier records and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review daily bank and cash reconciliations.
• Assist in monitoring daily cash and liquidity positions.
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
• Assist in addressing audit findings and implementing required improvements.
• Ensure compliance with the Bank’s accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify and escalate weaknesses in accounting processes and controls.
• Ensure accounting transactions are accurately processed through core banking, ERP, and accounting systems.
• Participate in testing finance-related system enhancements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior finance staff where required.
• Keep up to date with developments in IFRS, taxation, and Bank of Tanzania regulations.
• Perform other finance-related duties assigned by the Head of Finance.

Qualifications required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• CPA(T), registered with NBAA – mandatory.
• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in banking, microfinance, or financial services.
• Practical experience in financial accounting, general ledger management, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, taxation, and financial reporting.
• Experience in Bank of Tanzania regulatory reporting and IFRS financial reporting is highly desirable.
• Experience with core banking and ERP/accounting systems is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting requirements, Tanzanian tax laws, and statutory compliance.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, budgeting, and financial analysis within a banking or microfinance environment.
• Strong reconciliation, analytical, and financial reporting skills.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial schedules and management reports.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict reporting deadlines in a fast-paced banking environment.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
