Standard Bank Group is inviting applications for the position of Banker, Business in Dar es Salaam. This is a full-time opportunity for a banking professional with experience in relationship banking, business and commercial banking, credit, sales, and client servicing.

The Banker, Business will support the Manager Acquisition with administrative, sales, operational, and credit management activities while ensuring that compliance requirements are met. The role also serves as an office-based point of contact for clients, helping deliver sales and service fulfilment in line with business segment targets.

About the Role

The position is focused on supporting the day-to-day activities of the Manager Acquisition and ensuring effective coordination of client-related banking services. The successful candidate will contribute to sales, operational support, credit management, and client service activities.

The role also requires strong knowledge of business banking products, account management, lending principles, risk management, and client support processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the Manager Acquisition with day-to-day administrative, sales, operational, and credit management functions.
• Ensure that all compliance requirements are met.
• Act as a central office-based contact point for clients.
• Provide sales and service fulfilment aligned with segment targets.
• Support client queries and requests through appropriate banking processes.
• Assist with credit-related activities and client servicing.
• Contribute to effective account management and maintenance.
• Apply appropriate risk identification and management practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or a related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in Relationship Banking and Client Coverage.
• 3–4 years of experience in Business and Commercial Banking.
• Experience as an Account Analyst with exposure to lending principles, sales, and client servicing.
• Experience in a back-office Account Support or Customer Service Support role.
• Experience interacting with clients and processing client queries and requests.
• Experience in Credit or Retail Credit Collections, including responsibility for completing credit applications.
• Relevant intermediary experience in respect of FAIS.
• Ability to articulate information effectively.
• Ability to convey self-confidence.
