Programme Coordinator – Human Security (P3)

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Provide strategic policy, technical direction, and leadership for Human Security and Human-Wildlife Conflict programmes.
• Coordinate programme implementation between UNDP, IOM, government institutions, and development partners.
• Provide technical guidance on peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and natural resource management.
• Conduct political, social, and economic analysis to support evidence-based policy recommendations.
• Oversee programme quality assurance, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Develop annual work plans, budgets, procurement plans, and monitoring frameworks.
• Organize stakeholder meetings, steering committee sessions, workshops, and technical consultations.
• Design and deliver capacity-building programmes for government institutions, UN agencies, and beneficiary organizations.
• Monitor programme performance against results frameworks and risk management plans.
• Prepare donor reports, quarterly and annual progress reports, and financial variance reports.
• Develop partnership agreements, memoranda of understanding, and responsible party agreements.
• Lead resource mobilization efforts and strengthen partnerships with donors, civil society, and the private sector.
• Promote knowledge management, advocacy initiatives, and the documentation of lessons learned and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• A Master’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree with two additional years of qualifying experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree, or 7 years with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Proven experience in programme or project management.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based management systems.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

The following will be an added advantage:

• Experience in preventing violent extremism and strengthening community resilience.
• Experience managing field cooperation programmes within international organizations.
• Strong stakeholder coordination and partnership management skills.
• Resource mobilization and programme quality assurance experience.
• PRINCE2 or another recognized programme management certification.
