Sihotech Engineering Company Limited is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Power Systems Engineer to join its team in Dar es Salaam. This full-time opportunity is designed for electrical engineering professionals with extensive experience in power system design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance who are committed to delivering reliable and efficient electrical infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in managing High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) power systems while overseeing project execution, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and supporting the safe and reliable operation of electrical power infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical power systems.

• Manage HV, MV, and LV power systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, and electrical distribution networks.

  

• Perform power system studies, protection coordination, and system performance analysis.

• Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, documentation, and quality delivery.

• Review and approve electrical designs, technical submissions, and commissioning reports.

• Provide technical guidance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of power systems.

• Ensure quality assurance throughout project implementation.

• Support compliance with applicable engineering codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) from a recognized university.

• Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).

• Valid ERB Practising Licence.

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in electrical power systems design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.

• Strong expertise in High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) power systems.

• Extensive knowledge of substations, transformers, switchgear, and electrical distribution networks.

• Proficiency in power system analysis software such as ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.

• Knowledge of SCADA systems, protection systems, and IEC/IEEE engineering standards.

• Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

• Good understanding of testing, commissioning, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder communication skills.
