Sales Coordinator – Pensioner Portfolio at NBC Tanzania

NBC Tanzania is seeking a Sales Coordinator – Pensioner Portfolio to support the acquisition, onboarding, activation, and servicing of pensioner customers across assigned regions. The role involves working closely with branches, Direct Sales Agents (DSAs), Local Government (LG) teams, pension fund offices, government institutions, and employers to identify prospective pensioners and convert them into NBC customers.

The successful candidate will coordinate field activities, monitor onboarding and activation progress, support pensioner-focused campaigns, and help resolve customer service issues. The position also involves maintaining performance dashboards, tracking dormant accounts, analysing portfolio trends, and providing insights to management to improve pensioner acquisition, retention, and overall customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pensioner acquisition activities with branches, DSAs, LG teams, and pension fund offices.

  • Prepare lead lists and support frontline teams with timely lead follow-up.

  • Monitor onboarding queues and account activation status.

  • Follow up on documentation gaps and onboarding delays.

  • Maintain pensioner acquisition dashboards and performance trackers.

  • Track conversion, activation, reactivation, and portfolio performance trends.

  • Coordinate pensioner initiatives such as pension clinics and activation campaigns.

  • Manage logistics, materials, and tools required for pensioner-related activities.

  • Handle customer and branch escalations by coordinating with Operations, Digital Channels, and other relevant teams.

  • Track dormant and inactive pensioner accounts.

  • Coordinate reactivation initiatives with branches and sales teams.

  • Provide performance insights, exception reports, and recommendations to the Senior Manager.

  • Develop weekly plans for pension fund office, government office, employer office, and community outreach visits.

  • Monitor lead conversion, activation progress, and service trends.

  • Analyse performance trends and identify process gaps.

  • Recommend corrective actions to improve productivity and service delivery.

  • Ensure pensioner customers are onboarded to the correct product and segment.

  • Coordinate engagements with pension fund, government, and employer offices.

  • Liaise with Branch Managers, DSAs, LG teams, and Scheme Relationship Managers.

  • Maintain communication with pension fund administrators and institutional contacts.

  • Follow up on documentation, verification requests, schedules, and planned pensioner engagements.

  • Organize and coordinate pensioner clinics and corporate engagements.

  • Ensure field teams have the necessary information and materials.

  • Provide feedback from branches, DSAs, and pension institutions to relevant internal teams.

  • Track action items arising from pension-related engagements.

  • Ensure accountable stakeholders complete follow-up actions on time.

  • Escalate unresolved institutional and process-related issues to the Senior Manager.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • 2–3 years of experience in sales, customer service, or field operations.

  • Experience working with pension funds, public institutions, or senior citizens is an added advantage.

  • Strong customer service and stakeholder coordination skills.

  • Ability to prepare reports, dashboards, and performance trackers.

  • Understanding of pension processes and payout structures.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Good operational problem-solving and follow-up skills.

  • Commercial mindset with a focus on achieving sales and portfolio objectives.

  • Strong customer service delivery skills.

  • Digital familiarity and ability to work with relevant digital tools.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt to change.

  • Good knowledge of products and services.

  • Sales management skills.
