KCB Bank Tanzania is looking for an experienced DFS Manager – Card Acquiring to lead the growth and performance of its merchant acquiring business. The role is responsible for expanding digital payment channels, managing merchant relationships, driving transaction growth, and ensuring operational excellence across card acquiring, POS, QR payments, e-commerce, and international money transfer services.
The successful candidate will oversee the full merchant acquiring lifecycle while working closely with fintechs, payment service providers, regulators, and internal business teams to deliver innovative and customer-focused payment solutions.
Responsibilities

Execute the Bank’s merchant acquiring strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets.

Drive expansion of POS, card acquiring, e-commerce, KCB Lipa, QR payments, and other digital payment channels.

Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and strategic partnerships.

Support merchant acquisition, onboarding, activation, and retention initiatives.

Build and maintain relationships with merchants, fintechs, payment service providers, and aggregators.

Manage the merchant portfolio to increase active merchants, transaction volumes, and revenue.

Monitor merchant performance and implement retention and growth strategies.

Oversee deployment and utilization of POS terminals and payment acceptance devices.

Optimize acquiring operations, merchant settlements, and customer experience.

Grow e-commerce payment solutions and digital acceptance channels.

Manage international money transfer partnerships and identify new remittance opportunities.

Develop business plans, budgets, revenue forecasts, and performance reports.

Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support product enhancements.

Collaborate with Technology, Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams on new payment solutions.

Ensure compliance with AML/CFT regulations, card scheme rules, KYC, and internal policies.

Monitor fraud trends, chargebacks, disputes, and implement risk mitigation measures.

Oversee reconciliation, settlement, onboarding, and operational support processes.

Resolve customer and merchant service issues while improving satisfaction and loyalty.

Coach, develop, and manage team performance while promoting innovation and accountability.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Strong merchant acquiring and card payments background.

Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience.

Master’s degree in Business Administration is an added advantage.
