Vodacom Tanzania Plc is seeking a qualified Manager: Business Intelligence & Analytics to lead its Business Intelligence and Analytics function. The role focuses on transforming enterprise data into actionable insights, reporting solutions, and decision-support capabilities that can drive business growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making.
The successful candidate will lead reporting and analytics initiatives across the organization, work closely with business stakeholders, strengthen data governance, and promote the adoption of self-service analytics. The position also involves developing the analytics team and supporting the use of machine learning and AI to deliver more advanced business insights.
Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of executive, operational, and strategic reporting across the organization.

Develop reporting standards and harmonize business definitions across different business units.

Ensure timely and accurate reporting of business, financial, customer, and operational performance metrics.

Design and maintain dashboards and performance reporting solutions.

Drive adoption of self-service analytics and reporting.

Support business units with critical business insights.

Conduct trend analysis, root-cause investigations, and performance assessments.

Improve reporting automation and operational efficiency.

Establish and maintain a single source of truth for enterprise performance reporting.

Engage business stakeholders to identify current and future analytics and reporting requirements.

Prioritize analytics initiatives based on business value and strategic importance.

Ensure analytics and reporting solutions remain relevant and aligned with changing business and technology needs.

Support the adoption of machine learning and AI-driven insights and reporting.

Collaborate with Data Platform teams to operationalize analytical use cases.

Build a high-performance analytics culture focused on business value creation.

Drive recruitment, succession planning, and capability development within the analytics team.

Promote innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline.

At least 4 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Reporting, or Data Management environments.

At least 3 years of experience leading reporting teams.

Experience working in telecommunications or another data-intensive industry.

Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.

Strong Business Intelligence, analytics, and reporting expertise.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and business-partnering skills.

Ability to translate business requirements into reporting and analytical solutions.

Experience with enterprise reporting and analytics environments.

Knowledge of data governance frameworks.

Experience with Business Intelligence platforms such as Power BI and Tableau.

Strong data visualization and storytelling skills.
-
Proficiency in SQL.
-
Knowledge of Oracle and Trino.

Python programming skills.
-
Knowledge of machine learning and AI-assisted analytics and reporting.
