Vodacom Tanzania Plc is inviting applications for the position of Finance Manager: P2P and Opex Accounting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join one of Tanzania’s leading telecommunications companies and contribute to strengthening financial operations, compliance, and process excellence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier payments, operating expense accounting, travel and expense processes, and month-end financial reporting while working closely with shared services, procurement, and cross-functional finance teams to support strategic business decisions and cost optimization.
Responsibilities

Ensure supplier invoices are accurately processed and matched with purchase orders and delivery receipts.

Manage supplier payment schedules to optimize cash flow and maximize early payment discounts.

Ensure all payments comply with company policies, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.

Resolve supplier payment discrepancies and disputes professionally.

Maintain accurate and audit-ready payment records.

Monitor service level agreements with business units.

Collaborate with procurement and business units to improve invoice processing efficiency.

Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives across the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process.

Manage the complete intercompany invoicing and payment process.

Monitor and record operating expenses against approved budgets.

Perform month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.

Analyze operating expense trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Prepare monthly Opex analysis reports, including GRIR, travel expenses, manual payments, and one-time vendors.

Oversee travel and expense accounting in accordance with Vodafone Group policies.

Ensure policy compliance and timely reimbursement of employee expenses.

Manage balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journal entries.

Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation.

Strengthen internal controls and promote compliance across finance processes.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial operations.

Experience working with shared service environments and cross-functional teams.

Telecommunications or large corporate experience is an advantage.

Auditing experience is desirable.

Strong understanding of IFRS, budgeting, financial statements, and cost control.

Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Qlik Sense, or similar analytics tools.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Knowledge of local tax laws and financial regulatory requirements.
