Manager Credit Operations at Diamond Trust Bank

Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania is inviting applications from qualified and experienced banking professionals for the position of Manager Credit Operations in Dar es Salaam. The role offers an opportunity for an experienced credit operations specialist to lead the Bank’s credit operations function and ensure that lending activities are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with approved terms and regulatory requirements.

The Manager Credit Operations will oversee key activities across the credit lifecycle, including pre-disbursement controls, facility booking, loan disbursement, portfolio monitoring, regulatory reporting, and management information reporting. The successful candidate will also contribute to strengthening operational controls, improving processes, and supporting the Bank’s digital transformation initiatives.

The main responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage the Credit Operations function to ensure efficient and effective execution of all credit-related operational activities.

  

• Ensure compliance with approved credit facilities, internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

• Develop and maintain robust operational controls across the credit lifecycle.

  

• Ensure all necessary approvals are in place before loan utilization or disbursement.

• Oversee accurate booking of approved credit facilities within the Core Banking System and related platforms.

  

• Ensure timely and accurate loan disbursements in accordance with approved terms and delegated authorities.

• Monitor credit facility activity, repayment schedules, limit expiries, and facility performance.

  

• Support effective portfolio monitoring and ensure exceptions are identified and addressed promptly.

• Prepare accurate management information and regulatory reports.

• Promote process efficiency and continuous improvement within Credit Operations.

• Ensure effective use of banking systems, Microsoft Office applications, and digital tools.

• Lead, supervise, and develop Credit Operations team members.

• Maintain strong operational controls and ensure high standards of integrity and accountability.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, CIB, or an equivalent qualification.

• Strong knowledge of credit operations, lending processes, banking systems, and regulatory reporting requirements.

• Proficiency in Core Banking Systems, Microsoft Office applications, and digital tools.

• Strong analytical, reporting, and operational control skills.

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant banking experience.

• At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience.

• Experience in loan booking, disbursement, portfolio monitoring, and regulatory or management information reporting.

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
