DFS Manager – Digital Loans and Savings at KCB Bank Tanzania

KCB Bank Tanzania is inviting applications from experienced and qualified professionals for the position of DFS Manager – Digital Loans and Savings in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of digital lending and savings strategies, with responsibility for growing the Bank’s digital financial services portfolio and ensuring that products remain competitive, accessible and relevant to customer needs.

This is a senior digital financial services and product management opportunity for a professional with strong experience in digital banking, product development, financial technology or related areas. The role will involve managing digital loans and savings products, driving innovation, overseeing product performance, developing strategic partnerships and working with various teams to deliver sustainable portfolio growth.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the digital loans and savings strategy in line with the Bank’s Digital Financial Services strategy.

  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap covering digital lending, digital savings, micro-savings, micro-lending, goal-based savings, fixed savings and embedded financial services.

  • Identify market opportunities and customer needs to support innovation and portfolio expansion.

  • Manage the profitability, growth and overall performance of the digital loans and savings portfolio.

  • Lead the development of innovative digital lending and savings solutions.

  • Design customer-focused products for retail, SME, youth, women and underbanked customer segments.

  • Explore emerging technologies, alternative data, artificial intelligence and digital credit assessment models.

  • Promote financial inclusion through accessible and affordable digital financial products.

  • Manage the complete product lifecycle from concept development and business case preparation through development, testing, rollout, optimisation and retirement.

  • Monitor product performance and introduce improvements to increase adoption and profitability.

  • Develop product pricing, customer value propositions and go-to-market strategies.

  • Monitor product utilisation and customer engagement to identify growth opportunities.

  • Lead the development and optimisation of digital loan products, including salary advances, mobile loans, nano-loans, SME digital credit and ecosystem financing.

  • Drive portfolio growth while maintaining an appropriate risk-return balance.

  • Work with Risk, Credit and Analytics teams to develop credit decisioning and scoring models.

  • Monitor disbursement volumes, portfolio quality, customer repayment behaviour and product profitability.

  • Develop responsible lending practices that support sustainable portfolio growth.

  • Develop and manage digital savings products that encourage customer engagement and deposit mobilisation.

  • Drive adoption of digital savings accounts and investment-linked solutions.

  • Implement initiatives that encourage long-term savings and financial wellness.

  • Monitor deposit growth, customer retention and product profitability.

  • Improve customer experience through customer journey mapping, UX/UI optimisation and digital engagement.

  • Identify customer pain points and implement improvements to digital product access and usability.

  • Use customer insights and analytics to improve product performance and satisfaction.

  • Ensure seamless customer onboarding and servicing across digital platforms.

  • Establish strategic partnerships with fintechs, MNOs, credit bureaus, technology providers, aggregators and other ecosystem players.

  • Explore embedded finance and ecosystem lending opportunities.

  • Manage partner relationships, commercial arrangements and service-level agreements.

  • Ensure successful execution of product initiatives through effective project management.

  • Oversee quality assurance, UAT, pilot testing and product release governance.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

  • Professional qualification in Product Management.

  • Professional qualification in Project Management.

  • Professional qualification in AGILE Practices.

  • At least 8 years of total cumulative work experience.

  • A Master’s degree in a Business-related field is an added advantage.
