NOC Engineer – 5 Positions at Yas Tanzania
Yas Tanzania is inviting applications for five NOC Engineer positions in Dar es Salaam. This is a full-time opportunity for IT, networking, telecommunications, computer science, and related professionals who are interested in Network Operations Centre (NOC), systems monitoring, incident management, and service availability.
The NOC Engineers will be responsible for continuously monitoring GSOC platforms and dashboards, identifying service anomalies, investigating incidents, managing tickets, and coordinating escalations to maintain operational stability. The role is suitable for candidates with 0–3 years of experience who have practical knowledge of monitoring tools, IT service management, networking, Linux, and observability technologies.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Continuously monitoring GSOC platforms and dashboards, including Grafana and ServiceNow.

Tracking service availability, performance baselines, trends, and threshold breaches across the monitoring perimeter.

Identifying, investigating, and escalating anomalies, service degradation, and incidents affecting applications, infrastructure, or network services.

Interpreting monitoring alerts and Prometheus metrics to assess service impact.

Creating, categorizing, prioritizing, and assigning incident tickets in ServiceNow.

Maintaining accurate ticket updates throughout the incident lifecycle.

Documenting investigation findings, actions taken, and escalation activities.

Applying appropriate incident classifications and root-cause categories.

Using Kibana and other log-analysis tools to investigate incidents and troubleshoot issues.

Serving as the designated shift operator when required.

Managing incidents within assigned authority levels and following escalation procedures.

Coordinating and escalating major or concurrent incidents to Senior Operators and relevant support teams.

Communicating incident status, service impacts, and critical updates to stakeholders.

Preparing detailed shift handover reports covering open tickets, ongoing incidents, active alerts, actions taken, and follow-up requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:

Technical degree or equivalent qualification in IT, Networks, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.

Strong practical experience may be considered in lieu of a formal technical degree.

0–3 years of experience in IT Operations, NOC, DevOps Support, or Systems Monitoring.

Hands-on experience with monitoring platforms and ITSM/ticketing tools such as Grafana, Zabbix, ServiceNow, JIRA, or equivalent systems.

Experience working with Grafana dashboards, metrics analysis, and trend monitoring.

Basic knowledge of Prometheus metrics, labels, and performance indicators.

Ability to use Kibana for log searches, filtering, and incident investigation.

Hands-on experience with ServiceNow incident management and ticket handling.

Understanding of OSI model fundamentals and TCP/IP networking concepts.

Familiarity with observability concepts, including metrics, logs, and traces.

Basic Linux command-line skills.

Ability to follow operational runbooks and established incident-management procedures.
