Operations Specialist – Driver Growth, Planning & City Expansion at Bolt

Bolt is seeking an experienced Operations Specialist to support the growth and expansion of its operations across Tanzania. Based in Dar es Salaam, this full-time role will focus on driver acquisition, city expansion, marketplace performance, and maintaining a strong balance between driver supply and customer demand.

The successful candidate will combine data analysis with hands-on field execution to improve driver onboarding, activation, retention, and overall marketplace performance. The role will also support the launch of Bolt services in secondary cities by developing structured growth plans and working closely with local and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete driver acquisition funnel from lead generation to activation and active driver performance.

  

• Use scout programmes, referrals, and other acquisition channels to achieve driver supply targets.

• Improve driver onboarding through engagement centres, clinics, and compliance processes.

  

• Monitor driver activation quality and early driver retention.

• Support Bolt's expansion into new and secondary cities across Tanzania.

  

• Develop and execute structured city growth plans.

• Implement initiatives designed to increase driver activation and ride demand.

  

• Monitor and analyze driver growth and city performance metrics.

• Prepare regular performance reports and communicate key findings.

• Translate data insights into prioritized and practical action plans.

• Work with Marketplace, Driver Engagement, and Rider teams to identify operational bottlenecks.

• Support initiatives aimed at improving overall market performance.

Qualifications Required

• 3–5 years of experience in operations, logistics, mobility, or marketplace businesses.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Hands-on experience using Excel or Google Sheets.

• Experience working with performance dashboards and operational data.

• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and fast-paced environments.

• Strong execution and decision-making skills.

• Ability to balance field-based activities with analytical responsibilities.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

• Strong interest in mobility, marketplace growth, and operational problem-solving.

• Experience working in Tanzania or similar markets is an added advantage.
