Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd (CCBA) is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join its Supply Chain team as a Fleets Team Leader in Mbeya. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates with expertise in fleet management, logistics, and vehicle maintenance to lead regional fleet operations while ensuring maximum vehicle availability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing fleet performance, preventive maintenance, vehicle licensing, fleet inspections, and safety compliance. The role also involves leading and developing the fleet team, driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing operational performance, and ensuring that fleet activities support the company's business objectives.
Responsibilities

Manage regional fleet operations to achieve targeted vehicle availability.

Proactively monitor and minimize vehicle downtime.

Conduct fleet inspections and operational audits.

Maintain accurate fleet data and master records.

Plan, coordinate, and oversee preventative maintenance activities.

Manage vehicle licensing and ensure regulatory compliance.

Ensure compliance with fleet safety, health, and environmental standards.

Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to fleet team members.

Monitor operational and technical performance to achieve business objectives.

Ensure quality checks are performed and accurately recorded.

Identify staff training needs and support employee development through coaching and performance reviews.

Guide and motivate the team to improve performance, engagement, and productivity.

Support workforce planning, recruitment, talent development, and retention.

Foster positive employee relations and teamwork.

Ensure adherence to fleet procedures, maintenance schedules, and operational standards.

Coach team members on structured problem-solving techniques such as the 5 Whys and quick-fix methodologies.

Resolve escalated operational issues and verify that corrective actions are effectively implemented.

Ensure Short Interval Control (SIC) mechanisms are in place to monitor waste and operational performance.

Promote continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.

Evaluate improvement opportunities and coordinate specialist support where required.
Qualifications Required

Degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field.

Previous technical experience in fleet management or a related role.

Minimum of three (3) years of line management experience.

Understanding of key business cost drivers.

Project management knowledge and practical experience.

Experience in budget management and vendor selection.

Knowledge of fleet performance measurement and productivity analysis.

Understanding of lean management principles.

Experience in planning, scheduling, and execution control.

Knowledge of change management methodologies.

Strong understanding of fleet operations and maintenance.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
