Customer Service Officer at World Vision Tanzania

World Vision Tanzania is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Customer Service Officer in Dar es Salaam. This full-time role combines customer service, banking operations, financial administration, data management, savings mobilization, and office support to ensure excellent service delivery at the Business Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling customer inquiries, processing financial transactions, managing petty cash, maintaining accurate records, supporting savings account operations, and ensuring compliance with KYC and financial procedures. The role also requires strong communication skills, analytical ability, integrity, and commitment to World Vision’s Christian values.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate manual data entry when tablet systems fail.

  • Verify that approval documents are available before manual data entry.

  • Supervise and confirm mobile number changes and ATM registrations.

  • Deliver excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Resolve customer inquiries and operational issues.

  • Register bank pay-in slips and issue receipts to clients.

  • Initiate cheque payments and submit them for central processing.

  • Perform bank reconciliation activities.

  • Acknowledge and manage bank correspondence.

  • Send disbursement sheets to the Central Processing Centre.

  • Physically verify clients during loan disbursement.

  • Report missing or problematic clients to the disbursement team.

  • Manage petty cash reimbursements and disbursements according to policy.

  • Process authorized cash and cheque payments.

  • Facilitate payments to service providers, contractors, and labourers.

  • Purchase essential office supplies and consumables.

  • Attend to customer inquiries professionally.

  • Promote and market savings products.

  • Direct customers to the appropriate officers or service channels.

  • Assist customers with ATM usage.

  • Register and resolve customer complaints.

  • Provide accurate information to customers.

  • Distribute marketing materials such as flyers.

  • Report lost ATM cards or mobile lines to the Business Centre Manager.

  • Report disbursement issues to the Disbursement Officer.

  • Report asset deliveries and losses.

  • Mobilize and sell savings products to clients.

  • Open savings accounts and ensure KYC approval.

  • Safeguard client collateral, files, documents, and valuable records.

  • Maintain proper payment documentation.

  • Send and receive Business Centre parcels.

  • Compile customer complaint reports for the Call Centre Manager.

  • Perform photocopying and printing duties.

  • Maintain Business Centre stationery supplies.

  • Protect the safety, reputation, and image of the Business Centre.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

  • Strong understanding of data entry and technology.

  • Good knowledge of handling financial information.
