Project Coordinator at World Vision

World Vision Tanzania is seeking an experienced development professional for the position of Project Coordinator in the Arusha Region. This contract role is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing donor-funded projects within an assigned Area Programme, ensuring high-quality project delivery, budget compliance, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and team supervision.

The successful candidate will work closely with government authorities, development partners, local communities, and World Vision teams to deliver sustainable livelihood and resilience interventions. The role also supports evidence generation, project documentation, resource mobilization, and policy influence to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable children and communities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality implementation and timely reporting of project interventions.

• Track project targets and share progress with the Project Manager, Cluster R&L Specialist, DME, and Head Office.

  

• Collaborate with partners, LGAs, and stakeholders to influence policy and maximize project impact.

• Monitor field activities, programme strategies, resources, and implementation progress.

  

• Provide technical guidance for day-to-day project operations.

• Participate in annual and multi-year budget planning, reviews, and report preparation.

  

• Ensure compliance with World Vision financial policies and donor requirements.

• Monitor project funds, budget burn rates, budget realignments, and support internal and external audits.

  

• Facilitate integrated district planning and budgeting with government and development partners.

• Collaborate with project teams to adapt and strengthen the project Theory of Change.

• Support implementation of impact measurement systems, including baseline and periodic data collection.

• Promote collaboration with other World Vision projects and contribute to organizational strategy.

• Prepare and submit high-quality project progress reports within required timelines.

• Participate in annual programme review meetings and disseminate lessons learned.

• Plan and facilitate quarterly reflection meetings, workshops, and stakeholder learning forums.

• Foster a high-performance and accountable team culture.

• Supervise and support Project Officers while providing technical assistance to government staff and consultants.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, LGAs, and other stakeholders.

• Promote project branding and donor visibility through regional and national forums.

• Develop effective collaboration with key public institutions.

• Represent the project in meetings, workshops, and conferences as guided by the Project Manager.

• Document and share project processes, challenges, best practices, and lessons learned.

• Contribute to World Vision’s resource mobilization and overall organizational performance.

Qualifications Required

• University degree in Rural Development, Community Development, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.

• Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing or coordinating donor-funded projects.

• Experience working with INGOs; experience managing Korean-funded projects is an added advantage.

• Understanding of inclusive and holistic programming, including GEDSI, financial inclusion, natural resource management, market-led approaches, resilience, livelihoods, and Faith & Development.

• Experience working with international donor-funded grants.

• Significant experience working with government officials, multiple partners, community groups, and local communities.

• Proven experience in project documentation and dissemination of results.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

• Strong planning and organizational abilities.

• Excellent report writing skills.

• High levels of integrity and accountability.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Ability to maintain effective working relationships across all organizational levels.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications.

• Ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

• Willingness to travel frequently to field locations.

• Excellent written and spoken English.

• Must be a Christian with good conduct.
