AB InBev Africa is seeking a technically skilled professional for the position of Machine Operator in Dar es Salaam. The role focuses on operating and maintaining packaging machinery, monitoring production performance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring that production activities meet required safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
The successful candidate will work within a fast-paced production environment and contribute to continuous improvement through equipment monitoring, quality checks, problem-solving, accurate production records, and effective communication between shifts. The position also involves supporting Process Artisans and Machine Specialists with running repairs and autonomous operations.
Responsibilities

Operate equipment in packaging process areas according to VPO standards.

Continuously review process performance against targets.

Record short stops and correct out-of-control conditions using VPO tools.
-
Record waste and product movement using appropriate documentation or information systems.
-
Review production trends to identify and resolve problems.
-
Carry out autonomous operations as defined for the relevant process areas.
-
Identify defective plant or equipment and report issues to the Process Artisan or Team Leader.
-
Assist the Process Artisan or Machine Specialist with running repairs during shifts.
-
Conduct required quality checks and analyses.
-
Record quality-check results in the appropriate information system.
-
Follow quality checks specified in relevant work instructions.
-
Respond to quality results using the appropriate VPO tools.
-
Participate actively in shift meetings.
-
Ask questions to improve understanding and contribute suggestions.
-
Use action logs to record issues, problems, and improvement opportunities.
-
Understand the team objectives and contribute towards achieving them.
-
Use communication tools such as shift logbooks to stay informed and communicate operational issues.

Complete proper handovers to incoming shift team members.
-
Communicate plant performance, quality, and maintenance issues during shift handovers.

Support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and production efficiency.
Qualifications Required

National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Technical qualification such as N3 or equivalent.

Experience operating and maintaining packaging machinery.

Completion of 9 months of on-the-job training.

Completed SKAP.
-
SKAP completed within the past 12 months.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy production environment.
