Flashnet Tanzania is seeking an experienced and technically skilled professional to join its team as an ISP Network Administrator in Dar es Salaam. The position is ideal for a network professional with hands-on experience in ISP or telecommunications environments and strong knowledge of routing, switching, subscriber management, and network security.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining Flashnet Tanzania’s core, aggregation, and edge network infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring high network availability, managing routing and Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) systems, implementing security measures, and supporting the continued scalability of the company’s ISP infrastructure.
Responsibilities

Manage core, aggregation, and access layer networks, including multi-vendor routers, switches, and Broadband Network Gateways (BNG).

Implement, optimize, and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS protocols across multi-vendor network environments.

Configure, maintain, and support networking hardware from Juniper, Huawei, Cisco, and MikroTik.

Administer Broadband Network Gateways (BNG) for subscriber authentication through PPPoE/DHCP.

Manage bandwidth provisioning and Quality of Service (QoS) enforcement.

Monitor network traffic and performance.

Manage network system upgrades and maintenance.
-
Implement and enforce Access Control Lists (ACLs).

Administer RADIUS/AAA servers.
-
Deploy and support DDoS mitigation strategies.
-
Maintain reliable and highly available ISP network infrastructure.

Support network scalability and ongoing infrastructure improvements.
Qualifications Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.

3–5+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Administrator or Network Engineer in an ISP or telecommunications environment.

Strong expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.

Strong knowledge of IP addressing.

Experience with VLAN structuring.

Practical experience with BNG deployments.
-
Experience configuring and managing multi-vendor routing and switching environments.

Professional certifications are preferred, including:

CCNA or CCNP.

JNCIA or JNCIP.
-
HCIA or HCIP.
-
MTCNA or MTCRE.
