Exim Bank Tanzania is inviting applications for the position of Relationship Officer based in Dar es Salaam. This full-time opportunity is ideal for early-career banking professionals with experience in corporate banking operations, credit administration, or portfolio management who are eager to build a career in relationship management. The successful candidate will support the effective management of the bank's corporate banking portfolio while ensuring high standards of customer service, regulatory compliance, and portfolio administration.
Working closely with Relationship Managers and Assistant Relationship Managers, the Relationship Officer will help maintain customer records, monitor loan facilities, support credit administration, and ensure compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements. The role is essential in maintaining portfolio quality and supporting the delivery of efficient banking services.
Responsibilities

Conduct preliminary credit assessments by reviewing financial statements, cash flows, repayment capacity, and business performance.

Prepare credit applications for new loan facilities, renewals, and amendments under the guidance of the Assistant Relationship Manager.

Maintain accurate financial and non-financial information for assigned corporate loan accounts.

Monitor customer facilities to ensure compliance with approved terms and conditions.

Track loan covenants, repayment schedules, facility pricing, and reporting requirements.

Escalate overdue documentation, policy breaches, and compliance exceptions for timely resolution.

Ensure full compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), sanctions screening, and other regulatory requirements.

Conduct periodic reviews of security and collateral documentation to ensure validity and completeness.

Support Relationship Managers with portfolio administration, customer follow-ups, and document collection.

Prepare and maintain portfolio reports, customer call notes, compliance trackers, and other monitoring records.

Coordinate with Credit, Legal, Operations, Trade Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure efficient portfolio management.

Deliver excellent customer service in accordance with the bank's service standards and organizational values.

Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications Required

Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

One (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience in relationship management support, corporate banking operations, credit administration, or portfolio monitoring.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Good understanding of banking policies, lending procedures, credit administration, and regulatory compliance.

Knowledge of Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and portfolio monitoring practices.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
