Finance Manager

Doris Mollel Foundation (DMF) is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take responsibility for financial management across programs, projects, or the organization. The contract opportunity is suited to finance professionals with strong experience in budgeting, grants management, auditing, and donor compliance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining effective financial controls, managing budgets and grants, supporting audit processes, and ensuring that financial activities comply with donor requirements. Experience managing multiple financiers and working with computerized accounting systems will be an added advantage.

About the Role

The Finance Manager will oversee the financial management of DMF programs, projects, or organizational operations. This includes taking responsibility for budgets, managing grants, coordinating audits, and ensuring compliance with applicable donor and financial requirements.

The role requires a senior finance professional with strong accounting knowledge and practical experience managing organizational finances. Candidates who have worked with NGOs, government institutions, or private-sector organizations and handled multiple financiers will have an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for program, project, or organizational budgets.

• Prepare, manage, and monitor budgets.

  

• Manage grants and related financial requirements.

• Monitor grant expenditure and financial performance.

  

• Ensure financial activities comply with donor requirements.

• Coordinate and oversee audit processes.

  

• Support the preparation of financial information required for audits.

• Maintain effective financial controls.

• Manage financial reporting requirements.

• Monitor financial transactions and expenditure against approved budgets.

• Manage relationships with multiple financiers where applicable.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:

• A Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification.

• Certified Public Accountant – CPA(T) or equivalent professional qualification.

• More than 5 years of relevant work experience.

• Demonstrated leadership experience is an advantage.

• Experience with full responsibility for program, project, or organizational budgets.

• Experience in grants management.

• Experience in audit management.

• Experience in donor compliance.

• Experience working with multiple financiers is an advantage.

• Experience in a non-governmental, governmental, or private-sector organization is an advantage.

• Experience using computerized accounting software.

• Knowledge of SAGE 300 ERP, EPICOR, or similar accounting systems is an advantage.

• Strong financial management and reporting skills.
