Civil and Structural Engineer

Doris Mollel Foundation (DMF) is seeking registered civil or structural engineers and qualified engineering firms to support the delivery and full-time site supervision of building and infrastructure projects in Dar es Salaam. The contract opportunity is intended for experienced professionals who can ensure that construction works meet required structural, technical, safety, and regulatory standards.

About the Role

The Civil and Structural Engineer will oversee construction activities from a technical and quality perspective, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, within budget, on schedule, and according to approved specifications. The role requires strong knowledge of structural engineering, construction practices, Tanzanian building regulations, and site conditions.

The engineer will also coordinate contractors and clerks of works, monitor construction quality, address technical challenges, and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements throughout project implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of building and infrastructure works.

• Provide full-time supervision of construction sites.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Registration as a civil or structural engineer, or be a registered engineering firm.

• Registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) or an equivalent professional body.

• Current professional registration in good standing.

• At least 5 years of experience leading the delivery and full-time site supervision of building or infrastructure projects.

• Experience in institutional or healthcare construction is an advantage.

• Strong structural-design experience.

• Ability to prepare and review technical drawings and specifications.

• Experience in construction works supervision.

• Experience in quality assurance.

• Experience managing contractors and clerks of works.

• Ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to required standards.
