Exim Bank Tanzania is inviting applications for the position of Alternative Delivery Channel Officer based in Dar es Salaam. This full-time opportunity is ideal for professionals with experience in digital banking, merchant acquiring, sales, or customer relationship management who are passionate about expanding digital payment solutions and enhancing customer experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for growing the bank's merchant acquiring portfolio by expanding the Point of Sale (POS) network, acquiring new merchants, strengthening business relationships, and promoting digital banking solutions. Working within the Retail Banking team, the Alternative Delivery Channel Officer will contribute to increasing transaction volumes, improving merchant satisfaction, and supporting the bank's digital transformation strategy.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the merchant acquiring portfolio.
- Promote Point of Sale (POS) terminals and other digital banking products through consultative selling.
- Prepare business proposals, negotiate agreements, and onboard new merchants.
- Develop and implement merchant acquisition campaigns to achieve business growth targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants.
- Respond promptly to merchant inquiries and resolve service-related issues.
- Coordinate joint marketing initiatives aimed at increasing merchant transaction volumes.
- Cross-sell additional banking products and digital banking services.
- Manage POS terminal deployment, replacement, maintenance, and retrieval.
- Collaborate with internal departments to address merchant requirements and improve service delivery.
- Act as the primary liaison for merchants by coordinating the timely resolution of operational issues.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and performance reports.
- Monitor merchant transaction performance and identify opportunities to improve business performance.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support business development strategies.
- Maintain accurate merchant records, documentation, and databases.
Qualifications Required
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Banking, or a related field.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in merchant acquiring, digital banking, sales, or customer relationship management will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
