Assistant Relationship Manager

Exim Bank Tanzania is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Relationship Manager based in Dar es Salaam. This full-time opportunity is ideal for banking professionals with experience in corporate banking, credit analysis, and relationship management who are looking to advance their careers in a dynamic financial institution. The successful candidate will support Relationship Managers in managing and growing the bank's corporate banking portfolio while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high credit quality.

The Assistant Relationship Manager will play an important role in conducting financial analysis, preparing credit proposals, monitoring loan portfolios, and ensuring compliance with the bank's lending policies and regulatory requirements. The position also involves maintaining strong client relationships and supporting the delivery of tailored banking solutions that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze corporate credit requests by reviewing financial statements, cash flows, repayment capacity, and overall business performance.

• Prepare credit applications for new loan facilities, renewals, and amendments in accordance with the bank's credit policies.

  

• Conduct industry, market, and economic analysis, including stress testing where necessary, to support sound credit decisions.

• Monitor customer accounts to identify irregular transactions and recommend timely corrective actions.

• Perform portfolio reviews and early warning assessments to identify potential problem loans.

• Review collateral and security documentation to ensure completeness, validity, and compliance with lending requirements.

• Monitor compliance with loan covenants, approval conditions, and facility terms, escalating exceptions where necessary.

• Support Relationship Managers in managing and expanding the corporate banking portfolio.

• Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure excellent customer service and relationship management.

• Respond to routine customer inquiries and provide timely operational support.

• Follow up on customer documentation and account-related requirements.

• Assist in maintaining portfolio quality while supporting business growth initiatives.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

• Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in corporate banking, credit analysis, relationship management, or a similar role.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Strong credit analysis and financial statement interpretation skills.

• Good understanding of corporate banking products and relationship management principles.

• Knowledge of banking regulations, lending policies, compliance requirements, and credit procedures.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.

• High level of accountability, teamwork, and customer service orientation.
