Hotel Manager

Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam, The Kilimanjaro is seeking an experienced and strategic hospitality professional for the position of Hotel Manager in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will support the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations across Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Guest Services while maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence.

The Hotel Manager will play an important leadership role in improving operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, revenue performance, and colleague engagement. The position is ideal for an experienced hotel operations leader with a strong background in upscale or luxury international hotel environments.

About the Role

The Hotel Manager will work closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team to ensure the hotel's departments operate efficiently and consistently. The role combines operational leadership, financial management, strategic planning, guest experience management, and people development.

The successful candidate will also help maintain Hyatt Regency brand standards while promoting a workplace culture based on empathy, integrity, respect, inclusion, experimentation, and wellbeing.

Hotel Manager Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading daily operations across Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, and Guest Support Services.

  

• Ensuring seamless hotel operations and consistently high service delivery.

• Maintaining compliance with Hyatt Regency brand standards and quality controls.

  

• Monitoring guest satisfaction metrics and implementing improvements where necessary.

• Serving as an active member of the Executive Leadership Committee.

  

• Contributing to strategic business planning and operational decision-making.

• Working with the General Manager and Finance team to improve hotel profitability.

• Managing operational budgets and controlling labour and operating expenses.

• Monitoring departmental productivity and revenue performance.

• Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) against financial and operational targets.

• Coaching, mentoring, and empowering departmental leaders and colleagues.

• Supporting continuous learning and career development among employees.

• Promoting Hyatt's core values throughout the hotel.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:

• A minimum of 6 to 8 years of progressive leadership experience in hotel operations.

• Experience in upscale or luxury international hotel brands is highly desirable.

• A Bachelor's Degree, Advanced Diploma, or relevant professional certification in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience managing multi-functional hotel teams.

• Demonstrated experience managing hotel P&L performance.

• Experience managing productivity and operational performance.

• Strong understanding of guest experience metrics.
