Resource Mobilization Intern

Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) is offering an internship opportunity in its Resource Mobilization Department in Dar es Salaam. The internship is designed to strengthen the department’s capacity while giving the successful intern practical, hands-on exposure to development finance and resource mobilization activities.

The intern will gain experience in engaging with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), preparing concept notes and funding proposals, conducting donor research, coordinating partner engagements and supporting financial and project reporting. This opportunity is particularly suitable for graduates interested in development finance, banking, international cooperation and agricultural development.

Responsibilities

• Track the external funding environment, including calls for proposals, funding windows and donor priorities relevant to agricultural development finance.

• Conduct desk research and preliminary due diligence on potential funding partners.

  

• Research bilateral and multilateral agencies, foundations and impact investors.

• Support the preparation and formatting of concept notes and funding proposals.

  

• Prepare briefing notes and other resource mobilization documents.

• Maintain records of expected and actual receipts and disbursements of mobilized funds.

  

• Maintain trackers and action matrices for active partner engagements.

• Support information requests from Treasury and other departments concerning funding models, cost drivers and managed fund performance.

  

• Assist with logistical and documentation preparations for donor meetings, missions and appraisal visits.

• Compile briefing packs for resource mobilization engagements.

• Maintain follow-up action logs for partner engagements.

• Support monitoring of performance reporting for projects funded through managed and mobilized funds.

• Work with relevant departments to support project and funding reports.

• Maintain an organized filing and document management system for resource mobilization records and correspondence.

• Perform other related duties assigned by supervising officers or the Director responsible for Treasury and Funding.

Requirements

• University Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, International Development or a related discipline.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Working knowledge of French is an added advantage.

• Good analytical and research skills.

• Ability to synthesize information clearly and accurately.

• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Demonstrated interest in development finance, banking or international cooperation.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Good organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks under supervision.

• High level of integrity and professionalism.

• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced institutional environment.

• Previous exposure to donor-funded projects, grant applications, banking, NGOs, development organizations or related work or volunteer activities is an added advantage.
