NBC Tanzania is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join its Human Resources function as a Talent & Development Partner in Dar es Salaam. The role focuses on supporting the bank’s strategic objectives by ensuring employees receive relevant learning and development interventions that improve performance, strengthen future capabilities and support career growth.
The successful candidate will work closely with HR teams, business leaders, managers, training providers and employees to identify development needs, design and deliver learning solutions, support talent and leadership programmes, and evaluate the impact of training. The role also involves managing training budgets, learning platforms, vendors, reports and administrative activities.
Responsibilities

Work with HR Learning and Development partners and business leaders to deliver people development initiatives aligned with the training plan.

Analyse staff training needs identified through performance development and talent management processes.

Build and maintain strong relationships with external training partners and manage trainers.

Work with HR Business Partners, People Managers and Departmental Heads to align learning interventions with business objectives.

Prepare learning and talent management reports for relevant stakeholders.

Monitor progress against learning and training targets.

Support the Head of Talent in implementing talent management processes.

Support leadership development programmes in line with the bank’s leadership framework.

Provide reports from e-learning platforms when required.

Participate in job fairs and career events while maintaining relationships with educational institutions.

Help business units identify training solutions for competency and performance gaps.

Compile the annual training plan with the Head of Talent and business units.

Ensure the training plan meets business requirements and remains within the approved budget.

Design, develop or source appropriate learning solutions.
-
Manage tailored learning and development interventions with subject-matter experts.
-
Research available training programmes and providers that meet NBC’s requirements.

Maintain collaborative relationships with Group Learning, Learning and Talent teams and local training providers.

Develop training materials, manuals and other learning aids for internal programmes.

Leverage Group learning programmes to meet NBC’s training requirements.
-
Deliver training programmes in partnership with business subject-matter experts.

Support the creation and delivery of talent programmes aimed at addressing organizational talent gaps.

Coordinate with the Head of Talent and Strategic Sourcing Team to source external learning solutions.

Support employees using digital learning platforms such as TLS, Group Digital Campus and Group Learning Portal.

Ensure compliance with learning policies, governance requirements and internal controls.

Develop and implement evaluation criteria for learning solutions.

Monitor and evaluate the impact of training programmes.

Recommend solutions for training and performance-related challenges.

Monitor the consistency and harmonization of learning policies, processes and solutions.

Maintain training materials, attendance records and other documentation.
-
Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad hoc training reports.

Reconcile training accounts and manage the training budget effectively.
-
Process training-related payment applications for staff and vendors.
-
Coordinate training logistics, including venues, invitations, accommodation and training materials.

Coordinate travel arrangements for domestic and international training activities.
-
Support general office administration within the Learning and Talent team.

Maintain adequate supplies of stationery, refreshments and other office requirements.

Provide administrative support for digital learning platforms.

Ensure vendor onboarding documentation is completed and submitted for payment processing.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification.
-
Relevant professional qualification or background in Banking, Human Resources, Education or Business Administration.

At least four years of experience in Banking, Training or Human Resources.
