SBC Tanzania Ltd. (Pepsi) is seeking a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Quality Assurance Officer in Mbeya. The role focuses on testing and inspecting products throughout the production process to ensure that beverages meet established quality, safety, and reliability standards.

The successful candidate will monitor production processes, inspect raw and packaging materials, conduct chemical testing, maintain accurate quality records, and identify deviations from required standards. The position is suitable for a Food Science and Technology graduate with at least two years of relevant experience and the ability to work effectively with production, maintenance, suppliers, and other teams.

Responsibilities

• Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across production processes.

• Maintain strong knowledge of production line processes and controls.

  

• Conduct chemical testing and apply appropriate standardization methods.

• Ensure beverages are produced according to specified quality requirements and production documentation.

  

• Inspect raw materials and packaging materials before use.

• Approve raw and packaging materials according to established requirements.

  

• Maintain accurate records of raw material and packaging inspections.

• Conduct regular plant audits to identify gaps in process controls.

  

• Recommend and implement corrective actions following identified quality issues.

• Conduct market surveys and test product samples.

• Ensure assigned production processes remain within specified standards at all times.

• Accurately record and document analysis results, process compliance, inspections, and production-line observations.

• Work closely with maintenance and production teams to ensure process-control equipment and devices function properly.

• Identify and report deviations from established quality standards.

• Prepare reports validating production compliance or highlighting areas requiring corrective action.

• Perform other quality assurance duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology or a related field.

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.

• Knowledge of SOP implementation and production-line processes.

• Knowledge of chemical testing and standardization methods.

• Ability to perform quality-related tasks accurately and within deadlines.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
