Job Description

CRDB Bank Plc is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join its team as Manager IFRS and Islamic Finance Reporting in Dar es Salaam. The role focuses on preparing high-quality financial reports for the Bank and Group while ensuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards, sustainability reporting requirements, climate-related disclosures, and Bank of Tanzania guidelines.

The successful candidate will also oversee Islamic financial reporting, climate and sustainability data, greenhouse gas emissions reporting, and related internal controls. This position is suitable for finance and accounting professionals with strong reporting, analytical, sustainability, and regulatory knowledge who can work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Bank’s and Group’s audited financial statements in compliance with IFRS, IFRS S1, IFRS S2, and applicable Bank of Tanzania guidelines.

  • Lead the preparation of climate-related financial disclosures in line with IFRS S1, IFRS S2, TCFD recommendations, and other applicable requirements.

  • Coordinate the collection, validation, consolidation, and reporting of climate, sustainability, and Sharia-compliant financial data.

  • Ensure the quality, reliability, and integrity of climate and sustainability disclosures through effective governance and internal controls.

  • Maintain supporting documentation, audit trails, and evidence files for internal and external assurance reviews.

  • Monitor developments in sustainability reporting, climate regulations, Islamic accounting standards, and emerging disclosure requirements.

  • Coordinate the measurement and reporting of Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Support financed emissions assessments in accordance with the PCAF methodology.

  • Review emissions calculation methodologies, data quality, assumptions, and reporting processes.

  • Develop and improve climate data management processes, reporting controls, databases, and performance metrics.

  • Coordinate the identification, assessment, and disclosure of climate-related risks and opportunities affecting the Bank’s operations, lending activities, and investment portfolios.

  • Support climate scenario analysis, stress testing, and risk assessments in collaboration with Risk and Compliance teams.

  • Assess the financial implications of physical and transition climate risks and prepare related reports and disclosures.

  • Manage Islamic accounting and Sharia-compliant financial reporting requirements.

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of internal controls for sustainability, climate, and Islamic financial reporting.

  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators, rating agencies, and internal stakeholders on IFRS, sustainability, climate, and Islamic accounting matters.

  • Provide technical guidance and capacity building to Finance teams.

  • Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely management, regulatory, financial, sustainability, and climate-related reports.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting or finance qualification is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, or related finance functions.

  • Knowledge and experience with sustainability and financial reporting frameworks such as GRI, IFRS Sustainability Standards, PCAF, and NGFS.

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles, including IFRS S1 and IFRS S2.

  • Understanding of ESG, sustainability, and non-financial metrics.

  • Knowledge of the PCAF methodology.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar data management tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.

  • High level of integrity and accountability.

  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and manage competing priorities.
