Manager – Advisory & Capital Markets

Vertex International Securities Limited is seeking a talented, innovative, and results-driven professional for the position of Manager – Advisory & Capital Markets in Dar es Salaam. The role is designed for an experienced finance or capital markets professional who can lead complex corporate advisory transactions and contribute to the growth of the company’s investment and capital markets business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for originating and executing transactions such as equity and bond issuances, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, valuations, and financial restructuring. The position also requires strong financial modelling, transaction structuring, client advisory, business development, and regulatory coordination skills.

About the Role

The Manager – Advisory & Capital Markets will lead corporate finance and capital market assignments from origination through execution. This includes working closely with clients, investors, professional advisers, regulators, and internal teams to ensure transactions are properly structured and completed on time.

The role also provides an opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative financial products while mentoring junior professionals and identifying new business opportunities for Vertex International Securities.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading the origination and execution of corporate advisory transactions.

  

• Managing capital market transactions involving equity and bond issuances.

• Supporting private placements and other capital raising transactions.

  

• Leading mergers and acquisitions assignments.

• Conducting and overseeing business valuations.

  

• Advising clients on financial restructuring.

• Developing detailed financial models for transactions and investment decisions.

• Preparing valuation analyses and transaction-related financial assessments.

• Preparing investment memoranda and information memoranda.

• Developing proposals and presentations for clients and prospective transactions.

• Advising clients on capital raising and corporate finance strategies.

• Providing strategic advice on corporate transactions.

• Identifying and converting new business opportunities.

• Building and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective clients.

• Leading financial, commercial, and market due diligence processes.

• Coordinating transaction execution with professional advisers.

• Working with relevant stakeholders to ensure transactions progress according to agreed timelines.

• Supporting the acquisition of required regulatory approvals.

• Ensuring transactions comply with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.

• Driving the development of innovative capital market products.

• Supporting products such as structured products, Collective Investment Schemes (CIS), Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), green finance, and Sukuk.

• Coaching and mentoring junior professionals within the team.

• Contributing to the company's overall business growth and product innovation.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• A Master's degree in a related field is an added advantage.

• CISI qualification or relevant CISI coursework.

• CFA, CPA, ACCA, or another internationally recognised professional qualification is an added advantage.

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.

• Experience in investment banking, corporate finance, securities, capital markets, or financial advisory.

• Strong strategic and commercial acumen.

• Proven expertise in financial modelling.

• Strong business valuation skills.

• Strong knowledge of corporate finance.

• Strong understanding of capital markets.

• Expertise in transaction structuring and execution.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to manage complex transactions and work with multiple stakeholders.
