KCB is seeking an experienced and qualified IT professional to fill the position of IT Quality Assurance Officer within the Technology Department in Tanzania. The role is responsible for ensuring that technology solutions meet business requirements and established quality standards through effective software testing, quality assurance processes and post-deployment validation.
The successful candidate will work closely with business units, project teams and other technology stakeholders to develop test strategies, prepare test cases, identify defects and validate software releases. The position also involves supporting the Core Banking application (T24), maintaining UAT environments and contributing to continuous improvement of software quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Coordinating business requirements reviews across functional teams.

Ensuring business requirements are complete, precise and testable.

Working with project teams to develop overall project test strategies and test plans.

Planning test schedules and identifying required testing resources.
-
Estimating testing effort according to project scope and delivery timelines.
-
Developing, documenting and maintaining functional and non-functional test cases.
-
Preparing test scripts, test data, data validation scripts, harness scripts and automated testing scripts.

Working with business units and project teams to execute and validate test cases.
-
Ensuring test cases are properly traceable to business requirements.
-
Collaborating with GEA and other stakeholders to improve Software Quality Assurance processes.

Supporting the adoption of appropriate testing tools and reusable templates.
-
Defining required test activities, processes and deliverables.
-
Conducting Test Readiness Assessments.
-
Establishing test beds and ensuring they are available for planned white-box and black-box testing.

Providing support for Core Banking application (T24) issues.
-
Managing user profiles and tracking system changes requested by business teams.
-
Ensuring changes follow the required DCOE change process.
-
Preparing, sharing and reviewing test results.
-
Identifying and reporting defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues and interoperability problems.

Preparing test acceptance reports for projects and software changes.
-
Ensuring optimal availability of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) environments.
-
Conducting post-deployment sanity and regression testing.
-
Participating in post-implementation reviews to confirm that deployed solutions meet business requirements.

Participating in the formulation and implementation of software process improvement policies and strategies for the IT Division.
Daily Responsibilities
The IT Quality Assurance Officer will:

Coordinate detailed business requirement reviews across functional teams.

Ensure requirements are comprehensive, accurate and testable.
-
Develop and maintain functional and non-functional test cases and scripts.
-
Prepare and maintain test data and other testing artifacts.
-
Support T24 Core Banking application issues and user profile management.
-
Track T24 system changes requested by business teams.
-
Provide the IT Service Delivery Manager with updates on T24 system changes and their status.
-
Ensure UAT environments remain available for planned testing activities.
-
Prepare and review periodic test results.
-
Report defects, bugs, errors, configuration problems and interoperability flaws.
-
Prepare test acceptance reports for projects and software changes.
-
Evaluate application release deliverables against expected quality standards.

Escalate identified problems for resolution and ensure agreed commitments are achieved.
Qualifications Required
Applicants should have:

A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or another relevant IT-related field.

An International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) certification.
-
Project Management and/or ITIL professional qualifications.
-
A Master's degree in Business Administration or Project Management will be an added advantage.
Experience Required
Candidates should have:

At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Practical experience in software quality assurance and testing.

Experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases and test scripts.

Experience conducting functional and non-functional testing.
-
Experience with UAT, regression testing and post-deployment validation.

Experience identifying, documenting and managing software defects.

Experience working with business and technology teams to validate requirements and software solutions.

Experience with Core Banking systems, particularly T24, would be relevant to the role.
