Successful candidates will perform judicial functions, including hearing and determining cases, preparing judgments and court orders, conducting mediation, and handling other judicial responsibilities assigned by the relevant authority.

Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Hearing and determining criminal matters within their jurisdiction.

• Hearing and determining civil matters within their jurisdiction.

  

• Handling matrimonial matters.

• Handling probate matters.

  

• Preparing judgments in accordance with the law.

• Preparing lawful court orders.

  

• Conducting mediation where applicable.

• Hearing appeals from Ward Tribunals.

• Conducting legal research.

• Performing other judicial duties assigned by the relevant authority.

Qualifications Required

Applicants should have:

• Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSEE).

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognised university or higher learning institution.

• Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania.

• Computer training will be an added advantage.

General Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be Tanzanian citizens.

• Be between 18 and 45 years of age.

• Meet all qualifications and requirements specified for the position.

• Provide certified copies of relevant academic and professional certificates.

• Provide a birth certificate.

• Provide a recent passport-size colour photograph.

• Not have a criminal conviction or history of imprisonment.

• Provide any other documents required during the recruitment process.
