Equity Bank Tanzania is inviting applications for the position of Manager – Ecosystem & Digital Lending within the Commercial Department. This is a permanent role reporting to the Senior Manager – Ecosystem & Digital Lending and is focused on growing ecosystem banking, digital lending products, customer relationships, and technology-enabled financial solutions.
The successful candidate will combine commercial banking knowledge with digital product management, customer experience, technical support, data analysis, and project coordination. The role involves working closely with IT teams, branches, customers, vendors and other internal stakeholders to improve digital lending products, manage customer issues, support product adoption and maintain quality loan portfolios.
Job Summary
The Manager – Ecosystem & Digital Lending will be responsible for originating and managing business relationships, supporting business development, mobilizing deposits and managing digital lending activities.
The role also involves developing and improving digital lending ecosystems, supporting product adoption, coordinating technical solutions, monitoring portfolio performance and ensuring that digital lending activities remain within acceptable risk levels.
Principal Accountabilities
Ecosystem Banking
The successful candidate will:

Build and maintain strong business relationships with distribution ecosystems and assigned anchor clients.

Recruit anchors and their value chains and translate these relationships into business for the bank.

Mobilize liabilities and improve customer retention in line with annual ecosystem targets.
-
Ensure accurate deposit capture from borrowing customers within digital lending value chains.
-
Create awareness of ecosystem and digital lending products.
-
Recruit, train and maintain strong business relationships with ecosystem customers.
-
Drive the integration of payment solutions across the bank's platforms and recruited ecosystems.
-
Link retail, MSME and corporate customers to effective and affordable collection solutions.
-
Drive both liability and asset growth for the bank.
Digital Lending
The role will support the Senior Manager in managing day-to-day digital lending functions, particularly technical support and project development.
Key responsibilities include:

Champion credit data integration and data cleanliness in partnership with IT.
-
Enforce credit data capture standards.
-
Support technical issue resolution in collaboration with IT.
-
Facilitate coordination between IT support and customer service points.
-
Ensure proper reporting, documentation and reviews to confirm that lending remains within acceptable risk levels.

Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new products.
-
Gather functional and non-functional business requirements.
-
Analyse requirements and develop appropriate process flows and documentation.
-
Participate in digital projects involving the bank's online channels.
-
Ensure technical integrations and developments meet business requirements.
-
Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors on digital lending projects.
-
Engineer and test product processes before customer launch.
-
Drive ecosystem banking solutions within distribution industries.
Product Management and Technical Support
The position will oversee the adoption and lifecycle of digital lending products, including:

Stock Financing

Merchant Financing

Agent Float Financing

SME ODA

Other digital loan products
The successful candidate will also:

Troubleshoot issues raised by customers and internal teams.
-
Consolidate and allocate limits and manage sanction-limit amendments.
-
Create agent accounts.
-
Terminate agent limits when required because of system errors or customer and branch requests.
-
Conduct UAT testing for new products.
-
Define customer journeys in collaboration with process mapping and delivery teams.
-
Develop customer user stories and appropriate customer messaging.
-
Execute digital lending initiatives with relevant stakeholders.
-
Facilitate customer awareness activities to increase product adoption.
-
Review customer and business feedback and use it to improve products.
-
Monitor product performance on a daily basis.
-
Work with collections teams to improve portfolio quality.
-
Support business growth in collaboration with segment leads and branches.
Customer Touch Points, Training and Back-Office Support
Responsibilities include:

Resolve tickets raised by branches, contact centres and customers.
-
Contact customers where necessary to resolve digital lending issues.
-
Resolve outstanding tickets within the required turnaround time.
-
Train staff on product knowledge, product use and application procedures.
-
Keep employees informed about business changes and product developments.
-
Engineer and test product processes before customer launch.
-
Coordinate between IT support and customer service points.
-
Support marketing initiatives designed to improve product uptake.
-
Monitor the performance of digital product marketing campaigns.
-
Implement standards and procedures that promote optimal customer experience.
-
Manage customer satisfaction and overall customer experience within the department.
-
Ensure customer communications are relevant and meet customer satisfaction standards.
-
Support technical issue resolution in collaboration with IT.
Monitoring and Analysis
The Manager will also be responsible for:

Monitoring and analysing different customer segments to identify areas for business improvement.

Conducting market research and identifying opportunities for new or improved products.
-
Reviewing and testing product processes before implementation.
-
Supporting customer experience improvements through research, surveys and customer-needs analysis.
-
Supporting risk reduction within channel-driven lending through detailed analysis.
-
Ensuring proper reporting, documentation and lending reviews.
-
Ensuring staff remain updated on digital lending products and procedures.
-
Preparing daily performance and business trend reports for management.
-
Developing and using interactive management dashboards.
-
Working with IT to improve credit data integration and data quality.
-
Supporting marketing campaigns for digital products.
-
Identifying qualifying customers for targeted SMS, email and social media campaigns.
-
Responding to customer queries concerning digital lending products.
-
Advising the business on ways to improve service delivery.
-
Supporting branches on matters related to digital lending.
Other Accountabilities
The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.
