The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring and managing broker relationships, developing sales opportunities, increasing policy retention, coordinating quotations and renewals, and improving broker productivity. The role also requires strong collaboration with Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Finance, Customer Experience, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure excellent service and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver approved gross written premium, policy-count, retention, and profitability targets for the Broker Channel.

  • Monitor broker portfolio mix, loss ratios, debtor trends, and campaign returns.

  • Coordinate corrective action where broker or portfolio performance falls below expectations.

  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM records, and monthly performance reports.

  • Identify and conduct due diligence on priority licensed brokers.

  • Maintain appropriate records of broker training and engagement activities.

  • Develop broker engagement initiatives to strengthen productivity and retention.

  • Identify product, pricing, service, and digital-journey improvements based on broker and market feedback.

  • Monitor active-broker ratios, broker productivity, renewal retention, share of wallet, and broker satisfaction.

  • Coordinate accurate quotations, policy placements, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, debit notes, credit notes, and other documentation within agreed service levels.

  • Act as the first escalation point for broker enquiries.

  • Coordinate the resolution of broker issues with Underwriting, Operations, Finance, Claims, and Customer Experience teams.

  • Monitor quotation and policy turnaround times, renewal follow-ups, broker queries, complaints, and recurring service issues.

  • Support brokers with accurate claims-notification requirements.

  • Coordinate timely escalation of material or urgent claims through approved channels.

  • Monitor claims-service feedback and recurring issues without making claims-admissibility decisions outside delegated authority.

  • Provide approved information on product coverage, exclusions, limits, underwriting requirements, and claims procedures.

  • Ensure business is conducted through duly licensed and approved brokers with valid agreements.

  • Ensure compliance with product terms, company policies, intermediary requirements, and applicable regulations.

  • Support accurate disclosures, customer-needs assessments, documentation, premium-remittance follow-up, and data protection.

  • Maintain an audit-ready broker register, due-diligence records, licences, agreements, training evidence, business plans, and activity reports.

  • Escalate underwriting, pricing, credit, premium-remittance, claims, compliance, and broker-conduct issues within prescribed timelines.

  • Maintain an annual development plan covering general insurance products, broker relationship management, consultative selling, portfolio analytics, credit control, conduct risk, and regulatory updates.

  • Complete mandatory training and apply new knowledge to improve channel performance and audit readiness.

  • Share market intelligence, lessons learned, and effective practices with Distribution, Product, and Operations teams.
