Equity Bank Tanzania is seeking an SME Liabilities Manager to drive the growth and profitability of its Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) deposit portfolio. The role focuses on acquiring new SME customers, increasing deposits and transaction volumes, strengthening existing relationships, and promoting banking solutions that support both customers and the Bank’s balance sheet growth.
The position is primarily a sales, business development, and relationship-management role within SME banking. The successful candidate will identify business opportunities, mobilize low-cost deposits, promote cash-management and digital banking solutions, and work closely with internal teams to provide suitable solutions to SME customers.
Responsibilities

Develop strategies for growing SME deposits and transactional balances.

What This Role Involves
The word “liabilities” in this position primarily refers to the Bank’s customer-funded balances, particularly deposits. Therefore, this manager is focused on bringing SME money into the Bank and encouraging customers to actively use their accounts.
The role goes beyond simply opening accounts. The manager is expected to:
