Job Description

Tujijenge Tanzania, operating as LOLC Tanzania, is seeking an Intern Finance to support the Finance Department in Dar es Salaam. The internship provides practical exposure to financial operations within a microfinance banking environment, particularly in loan disbursements, payments, financial records, reconciliations, and administrative support.

The role is suitable for candidates with a background in Finance, Accounting, Banking, or a related discipline who have good analytical and organizational skills. Although advertised as an internship, the requirements specifically state at least two years of accounting experience, with banking or financial-services experience considered an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Support the loan disbursement process.

  • Verify loan documentation and ensure all required approvals are obtained before funds are released.

  • Assist in preparing and processing payments to suppliers, staff, and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure payments have proper authorization and supporting documentation.

  • Record financial transactions accurately.

  • Maintain organized records of loan disbursements, invoices, payment vouchers, and other financial documents.

  • Assist with bank account reconciliations.

  • Support reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Assist with general ledger reconciliations.

  • Support the Finance Department with data entry.

  • Assist in preparing documentation required for audits.

  • Perform other administrative tasks that support smooth daily finance operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting.

  • Experience in banking or financial services is an added advantage.

  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles.

  • Knowledge of financial reporting and accounting systems.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
