Debt Collector

The Debt Collector will be responsible for following up on customers with overdue payments and recovering outstanding debts. The role involves communicating with customers, understanding their repayment situations, negotiating suitable payment arrangements, and ensuring collections are made in accordance with company policies.

This position is suitable for candidates with experience in debt collection, customer service, finance, or related fields. Strong communication and negotiation skills are particularly important because the role requires regular customer engagement and the ability to work toward collection targets under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Contact customers with overdue payments through phone calls and field visits.

• Follow up with customers regarding outstanding balances.

  

• Negotiate payment arrangements with customers.

• Recover outstanding debts in accordance with company policies.

• Maintain accurate records of collections and customer interactions.

• Prepare daily and weekly collection reports.

• Work closely with the Finance and Credit teams.

• Meet assigned collection targets and performance expectations.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Previous experience in debt collection or customer service.

• Good communication skills.

• Strong negotiation skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.

• Honesty and discipline.

• Results-oriented attitude.

• Fluency in Kiswahili.

• Proficiency in English.
