Coastal Aviation is seeking a qualified and experienced Avionics Engineer to join its aviation engineering team in Arusha. The airline operates safari and regional charter flights in Tanzania and has in-house engineering facilities supporting aircraft maintenance and technical operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing aircraft avionics systems, with particular emphasis on Cessna Caravan and Pilatus PC-12 aircraft. This position is suitable for experienced aviation professionals who can work in accordance with TCAA regulations, aircraft manufacturer requirements, and approved maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft avionics systems.

Work specifically on Cessna Caravan and Pilatus PC-12 aircraft avionics systems.

Diagnose and troubleshoot avionics faults and system malfunctions.

Conduct scheduled inspections of avionics equipment and aircraft instruments.

Perform unscheduled inspections when required.

Install avionics components and systems.

Test and calibrate avionics equipment and components.

Maintain accurate aircraft maintenance records and technical documentation.

Update maintenance logbooks in accordance with applicable procedures.

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with TCAA regulations.

Follow aircraft manufacturer specifications and approved maintenance procedures.

Support the Approved Maintenance Organization in delivering third-party aircraft maintenance services.

Identify and resolve technical avionics issues efficiently.

Ensure maintenance work meets required aviation safety and quality standards.
Qualifications and Requirements

Full expertise in aircraft avionics systems.

Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Practical experience working with Cessna Caravan aircraft.

Practical experience working with Pilatus PC-12 aircraft.

Strong knowledge of aircraft avionics maintenance and troubleshooting.

Ability to perform scheduled and unscheduled avionics inspections.

Ability to install, test, and calibrate avionics components.

Ability to maintain accurate technical records and maintenance documentation.

Knowledge of aviation maintenance procedures and regulatory requirements.

Ability to work in accordance with TCAA regulations and manufacturer specifications.
