What This Job Really Involves
This is a mobile application engineering role where you would build, test, improve, and maintain applications used by real users.
The vacancy gives you several technology routes: Java, Flutter, and/or React Native. Therefore, you do not necessarily need to be an expert in every technology listed, but you should have strong practical experience in at least one of the primary mobile-development technologies.
The employer is also looking for someone comfortable with the complete software-development lifecycle. You would not simply receive a specification and write code. You would work with designers and business teams, estimate tasks, participate in Agile ceremonies, respond to user feedback, review other developers' code, and continuously improve the application.
Core Technical Areas
Mobile Development
The most important requirement is practical experience with Flutter and/or React Native, with Java also listed as a required technology option.
A strong candidate should understand mobile application architecture, UI components, navigation, state management, API integration, error handling, testing, and application performance.
UX and UI
The role requires familiarity with UX concepts and tools such as Adobe XD. You should be able to work from design specifications and translate them into functional mobile interfaces.
Component-Based Development
The employer expects familiarity with reusable components and design systems. This helps maintain consistency across applications and makes large projects easier to maintain.
Automated Testing
Testing is an important part of the position. You should understand how to create and maintain automated tests rather than relying only on manually checking applications.
DevOps
The position also expects familiarity with modern development workflows involving Git, CI/CD, CodePipeline, and automated testing. This suggests that mobile engineers are expected to participate in application delivery and deployment processes.
Agile Development
You will work in an Agile environment with short feedback loops. This means requirements may evolve quickly, and you will need to respond to QA findings, user feedback, and changing product priorities.
Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate would typically have:
-
Practical Flutter or React Native experience.
-
Strong mobile application development fundamentals.
-
Java experience where applicable.
-
Experience consuming REST APIs and integrating backend services.
-
Knowledge of mobile UI/UX principles.
-
Adobe XD or similar design-tool experience.
-
Experience with reusable components and design systems.
-
Strong Git skills.
-
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
-
Experience with automated mobile application testing.
-
Agile/Scrum experience.
-
Experience working with cross-functional product teams.
-
Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
-
Ability to estimate development tasks accurately.
-
Experience responding quickly to QA and user feedback.
