Tutorial Assistant (Information Technology) – UDSM

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) is inviting applications for the position of Tutorial Assistant (Information Technology) in Dar es Salaam. This is a full-time academic position intended for qualified graduates who want to begin an academic career while developing their teaching, research, consultancy, and professional skills.

The successful candidate will work under senior academic staff, participate in lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions, and contribute to research and consultancy activities. The position also provides an opportunity to pursue postgraduate training leading to a Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Attend lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practicals conducted by senior academic staff as part of professional development.

• Conduct seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions.

  

• Assist in research, consultancy, and public service activities.

• Undertake postgraduate training for a Master’s degree.

• Perform other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Business Communication and IT.

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

• Bachelor of Science in Information Systems.

• Bachelor of Science in Instructional Design and IT.

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

• Minimum GPA of 3.8 from a university recognized by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).

• Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged 45 years or below.

• Must possess a National Identification Number (NIN) issued by NIDA.

• Applicants with qualifications from foreign universities must have their degrees verified by TCU, including recalculation of the GPA to a 5.0 scale.
