Tutorial Assistant (Geotechnical Engineering) Job at University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM)

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) is inviting applications for one Tutorial Assistant position in Geotechnical Engineering. The opportunity is suitable for graduates with relevant Civil Engineering backgrounds who have demonstrated strong academic performance and are interested in developing a career in university teaching and research.

The successful candidate will support senior academic staff in teaching and practical activities while participating in research, consultancy, and public service. The position also provides an opportunity to undertake postgraduate training leading to a Master’s degree.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Understudy senior members of academic staff by attending lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions.

• Conduct seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions.

  

• Assist in research, consultancy, and public service activities.

• Undertake postgraduate training for a Master’s degree.

• Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil and Transportation Engineering.

• Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering.

• Bachelor of Science in Water Resources Engineering.

Additional requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree GPA of 3.8.

• Degree must be obtained from a local or internationally reputable university recognized by the Tanzania Commission for Universities.
