Tutorial Assistant (Transportation Engineering) – COET at University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM)

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) is inviting applications for one Tutorial Assistant position in Transportation Engineering under the College of Engineering and Technology (COET). This opportunity is suitable for graduates in Civil Engineering, Civil and Transportation Engineering, or Transportation Engineering who have strong academic performance and are interested in pursuing an academic career.

The successful candidate will support senior academic staff in teaching, tutorials, practical sessions, research, consultancy, and public service activities. The position also provides an opportunity to undertake postgraduate training leading to a Master’s degree.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Understudy senior members of academic staff by attending lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practicals.

• Conduct seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions.

  

• Assist in research, consultancy, and public service activities.

• Undertake postgraduate training for a Master’s degree.

• Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; or

• Bachelor of Science in Civil and Transportation Engineering; or

• Bachelor of Science in Transportation Engineering.

• Alternatively, the applicant must hold a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Civil and Structural Engineering.

• Minimum GPA of 3.8.

• Degree must be obtained from a reputable institution in Tanzania or outside the country.
