Key Responsibilities
The Legal Counsel will be responsible for:

Processing company legal documents, loan agreements, grants, credit documentation, and security instruments.

Reviewing and preparing mortgage deeds, debentures, guarantees, and other legal security documents.

Reviewing internal policies and documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Preparing and reviewing contracts used in providing microfinance services.

Providing legal support on corporate, banking, and operational matters.

Drafting internal and external legal reports, including communications with regulators.

Supporting compliance with labour and employment laws.

Preparing employment contracts and ensuring compliance with local legal requirements.

Providing legal opinions on operational and business matters.

Preparing court documents and representing the company in legal proceedings.

Managing weekly and monthly legal reports.

Coordinating with external legal counsel on litigation matters and case progress.

Supporting loan recovery activities and legal enforcement processes.

Managing litigation and loan recovery records.

Following up on fraud prosecution cases handled by external lawyers.

Pursuing claims involving subsidiaries and defending against third-party claims.

Providing legal guidance to protect company interests.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Applicants should possess:

Bachelor’s Degree in Law.

Advocate certification.

Minimum of 3 years of working experience in a law firm or busy commercial organization.
