CCBRT (Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania) is seeking an experienced and visionary Group Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic and operational leadership as the organization enters its next phase of growth and sustainability. CCBRT (Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania) is Tanzania’s leading provider of disability and rehabilitation services and a strategic partner to the Government in delivering specialized healthcare services.

The organization works as a healthcare social enterprise and through development programmes to support communities and vulnerable populations. CCBRT provides specialized medical care, rehabilitation services, maternal and newborn healthcare, and healthcare training initiatives.

As part of its future growth strategy, CCBRT is transitioning into a three-entity hybrid structure consisting of:

  • An NGO arm focused on social impact and community programmes.

  • A Company Limited by Guarantee responsible for the Hospital and Medical College.

  • A Company Limited by Shares supporting commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Group Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for:

Strategic Leadership

  • Leading the implementation and evolution of CCBRT’s organizational strategy.

  • Positioning CCBRT as a leading integrated healthcare system platform.

  • Driving growth aligned with mission, sustainability, and service excellence.

  • Identifying opportunities for institutional development and expansion.

Multi-Entity Integration

  • Providing leadership across the NGO, Company Limited by Guarantee, and Company Limited by Shares entities.

  • Ensuring alignment between clinical, academic, social impact, and commercial functions.

  • Preventing organizational silos and improving resource coordination.

Financial Sustainability and Performance

  • Strengthening revenue generation and financial sustainability.

  • Improving operational efficiency and cost management.

  • Expanding sustainable income streams through healthcare services, training, education, and commercial ventures.

  • Strengthening financial performance across all organizational entities.

Government and Public-Private Partnership Leadership

  • Maintaining and strengthening relationships with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Community Development, regulatory authorities, and other public institutions.

  • Supporting national healthcare priorities.

  • Building effective government partnerships and collaborations.

Stakeholder Engagement and Resource Mobilization

  • Developing strong relationships with donors, development partners, private sector organizations, communities, and strategic partners.

  • Positioning CCBRT as a trusted healthcare partner nationally and regionally.

  • Supporting resource mobilization initiatives.

Organizational Leadership and Culture

  • Leading multidisciplinary teams across clinical, academic, corporate, and social impact functions.

  • Developing leadership capacity and succession planning.

  • Promoting accountability, excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Governance and Risk Management

  • Ensuring strong governance systems across all CCBRT entities.

  • Maintaining effective engagement with the Board of Directors.

  • Managing institutional risks, compliance requirements, and organizational reputation.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Applicants should possess:

  • Proven experience as a Chief Executive Officer, Country Director, Regional Director, or equivalent senior executive leader.

  • Experience managing complex organizations; multi-entity experience is highly preferred.

  • Advanced degree in Business, Healthcare, Public Health, or a related field.

  • Strong financial and commercial management skills.

  • Experience in healthcare systems, social enterprises, public-private partnerships, or similar complex environments.

  • Demonstrated success in institutional transformation, organizational growth, sustainability, and systems-level impact.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills involving government, boards, donors, regulators, private sector partners, employees, and communities.

  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and strengthen leadership structures.
