Key Responsibilities

The Team Lead – MIS & Reporting will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and maintaining credit portfolio quality.

  • Preparing end-of-month bank portfolio reports, including utilization reports and related analysis.

  • Preparing and uploading credit portfolio information to the CRB databank.

  • Generating and submitting IFRS9 data reports at month-end.

  • Providing information and support during internal and external audits and Bank of Tanzania examinations.

  • Preparing internal reports for Management, Group offices, and Board of Directors.

  • Preparing external reports for regulators and other stakeholders.

  • Reconciling loan listings, Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models, General Ledger (GL), and Trial Balance (TB).

  • Preparing and processing credit write-off files in compliance with BOT regulations.

  • Developing portfolio plans and monitoring sectorial concentration.

  • Ensuring proper classification of credit provisions according to BOT regulations, credit policies, and IFRS9 requirements.

  • Monitoring credit control activities to reduce non-performing loans.

  • Preparing and submitting CRB reports within regulatory deadlines.

  • Generating excess account reports and following up with relevant business teams.

  • Preparing collection and recovery reports, including collector performance scorecards.

  • Preparing governance meeting reports and presentation materials.

  • Ensuring compliance with banking procedures and credit policy requirements.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a similar or related role.

  • Experience with Core Banking Systems (CBS), including Flexcube, is required.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Strong data analysis and reporting abilities.

  • Knowledge of credit portfolio management and regulatory reporting.

  • Understanding of IFRS9 requirements and banking compliance standards.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to manage deadlines and work with confidential financial information.

  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Following the merger of UDC with First Merchant Bank and BARD Investment Services, and the subsequent re-branding as African Banking Corporation, ABC Holdings Limited (ABCH) listed on the Botswana (primary) and Zimbabwe (secondary) Stock Exchanges. The Bank in Tanzania was granted full commercial banking status by the Bank of Tanzania in 2002. In 2004, the ABCH Group successfully concluded the acquisition of a 68% interest in Tanzania Development Finance Company Ltd (TDFL) from the existing international shareholders, i.e. IFC, CDC, DEG, FMO and EIB.
