Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Planning and completing assigned fabrication and welding projects independently.

Performing TIG (Argon) welding on stainless steel and mild steel.

Carrying out stainless steel plate work and structural fabrication.

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints accurately.

Performing fabrication work according to engineering specifications.

Supporting preventive maintenance activities across the factory.

Coordinating with maintenance personnel regarding equipment and spare parts.

Assisting in technical investigations and maintenance problem-solving.

Completing and verifying job cards with accurate maintenance records.

Identifying equipment defects and reporting them to supervisors.

Managing workplace safety throughout maintenance activities.

Requesting required spare parts from stores.

Maintaining plant equipment and supporting maintenance operations.

Operating plasma, gas, and electric arc welding equipment.

Welding metallic and composite materials using approved techniques.

Installing tank linings, valves, lead pipes, and flooring components.

Conducting X-ray, hydrostatic, and tolerance tests to verify weld quality.

Operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in various welding positions.

Cutting, beveling, and shaping metal workpieces using power saws and hand tools.

Repairing damaged structures by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling metal components.

Complying with local and international engineering and building standards.

Monitoring welding equipment to prevent overheating and equipment damage.

Preparing metal surfaces by removing rust, grease, moisture, and other contaminants.

Designing fabrication patterns and layouts from engineering specifications.

Operating cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment to position workpieces safely.

Estimating material quantities and project costs.

Applying protective and decorative coatings to finished products.
Qualifications Required
Applicants should possess:

VETA Trade Test Grade II or III in Welding and Fabrication (Certificate II or III in Engineering Fabrication).

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in advanced welding and fabrication.

Experience in fabricating and welding structural steel used in building construction.

Strong knowledge of TIG (Argon) welding for stainless steel and mild steel.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

Practical experience in fabrication and preventive maintenance.
