The successful candidate will support the Senior Mining Engineer and Site Management in addressing technical mining issues, monitoring production performance, analyzing mining data and site costs, and ensuring mining activities are carried out safely and efficiently. This role also provides valuable exposure to mine planning, production reporting, quality assurance, and client engagement within a leading mining operation.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies, procedures, and instructions.

• Follow all applicable Mine Safety and Inspection Regulations.

• Take reasonable care for personal safety and the safety of others in the workplace.

• Perform pre-start inspections before commencing work.

• Support the achievement of mining production targets according to contract and client schedules.

• Maintain an understanding of site contracts, management plans, and client requirements.

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients.

• Assist in identifying and implementing cost reduction initiatives.

• Monitor daily mining production and operational performance.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production performance reports.

• Update underground reticulation systems, development progress, and operational delay reports.

• Support the implementation and management of quality assurance programmes.

• Assist in preparing monthly production reconciliations.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering.

• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Understanding of mining equipment capabilities, workforce productivity, and mining operations.

• Ability to work independently while applying established engineering standards.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Minrep, Deswik, Vulcan, and DataMine software.

• Ability to design reporting and recording templates.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively with operational teams and clients.

• Ability to prepare accurate monthly mining production reports.

• Understanding of mine reporting systems.

• Ability to assess mining working conditions and operational environments.

• Ability to train and mentor vocational engineers and supervise mine control reporting systems.

• Valid Tanzanian Driving Licence is highly desirable.

• Tanzanian Blasting Certificate is highly desirable.

• Graduate membership with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) is highly desirable.
