China Dasheng Bank Limited, a licensed commercial bank regulated under the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, Cap 342 [R.E. 2023], invites applications from qualified and accomplished professionals for appointment as an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) to its Board of Directors.
Role Summary
The Independent Non-Executive Director will provide independent oversight, contribute to strategic direction, and strengthen governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance frameworks of the Bank.
Core Responsibilities:
Contribute to strategic planning and policy formulation.
Oversee senior management performance and ensure accountability.
Safeguard the interests of shareholders and stakeholders.
Strengthen risk management and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Enhance internal control systems and governance structures.
Review and oversee financial reporting and disclosures.
Core Competencies
- Proven leadership and governance experience at Board or senior executive level.
- Strong expertise in Audit or Accounting with a sound understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance within the financial services sector.
- Independence of mind, integrity, and high ethical standards.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical capability, and communication skills.
- Regulatory awareness and stakeholder sensitivity.
- Commitment to dedicate sufficient time to Board responsibilities and continuous professional development.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria
Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
Expertise in at least one of the following fields: Banking, Finance, Accounting, or Auditing.
Minimum of ten (10) years’ senior management experience in banking, financial services, or related institutions within Tanzania.
Sound understanding of the local business environment.
Must satisfy the “fit-and-proper” and independence criteria prescribed by the Bank of Tanzania.
