The Finance Manager will oversee financial operations, support executive decision-making, and ensure sound financial management practices across the organization. The role combines strong accounting expertise with strategic financial analysis and leadership capability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Strategic Analysis
- Develop and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Provide financial insights to support business growth and expansion strategy.
- Conduct variance analysis on revenue streams and cost centers to enhance profitability.
2. Financial Control & Operations
- Streamline payment approval and release processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity planning to support operational and strategic needs.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Implement vendor rationalization strategies to improve cost predictability.
- Enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial data integrity.
3. Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
- Ensure full compliance with Tanzanian tax regulations under the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).
- Coordinate statutory filings and regulatory submissions.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
4. Systems & Technology (ERP Implementation)
- Lead the roll-out of the financial module of a new integrated ERP system across multiple sites.
- Ensure effective integration between ERP, Property Management Systems (PMS), and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Train finance and operational teams on digital financial workflows and reporting tools.
5. Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor the Senior Finance Officer and Accounting team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and service-oriented financial support.
- Strengthen internal capacity and performance management within the finance department.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- CPA or ACCA certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance role.
- Experience in a service-based organization is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax compliance.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
