Fema Mining and Drilling Limited is recruiting qualified and experienced Excavator Operators to support mining operations in Katoro – Geita.

Job Summary
The company is seeking four skilled Excavator Operators to operate heavy machinery in excavation, material handling and grading activities.
The role requires precision in equipment handling, strong safety awareness and close coordination with project supervisors and site teams.
Operators will contribute directly to mining production efficiency and site development activities.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation:
- Operate excavators to perform digging, trenching, loading and material movement
- Follow site plans, blueprints and technical instructions for accurate execution
- Ensure safe and efficient machine operation at all times
Equipment Inspection & Maintenance:
- Conduct pre-operational equipment checks
- Identify and report mechanical issues to the Project Supervisor
- Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication and refueling
- Maintain records of equipment condition and usage
Site Operations & Safety:
- Follow company safety policies and environmental regulations
- Monitor site conditions and report hazards promptly
- Collaborate with supervisors and ground crews to ensure smooth operations
- Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Documentation:
- Record daily activities including working hours and completed tasks
- Report operational challenges and equipment issues
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid certification or license to operate excavators or heavy machinery in Tanzania
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience operating excavators in mining, construction or related industries
- Ability to read and interpret site plans and technical instructions
- Strong understanding of safety standards in heavy equipment operations
- Physical fitness to work in demanding outdoor conditions and rotating shifts
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Willingness to relocate and work in Katoro – Geita
Preferred Skills
- Experience operating hydraulic, tracked or wheeled excavators
- Familiarity with mining site operations and terrain management
- Basic mechanical skills for minor repairs and maintenance
Working Conditions
- Work is conducted outdoors in a mining environment
- Exposure to dust, noise and varying weather conditions
- Shift work including nights and weekends may be required
- PPE is mandatory at all times on site
