Roles and Responsibilities
Merchant Relationship Management
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key merchant partners
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned merchants, ensuring strong engagement and satisfaction
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the merchant portfolio
- Proactively source and onboard potential merchant partners aligned with business objectives
Strategic Planning
- Develop and execute strategies to support merchant acquisition, retention, and overall revenue growth
- Align merchant strategies with organizational goals and market dynamics
Performance Analysis
- Monitor and analyze merchant performance data
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to merchants to drive growth and operational improvement
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams including Marketing, Product, Operations, and Customer Support
- Deliver customized solutions and services that address merchant needs
Negotiation and Contract Management
- Lead and manage merchant contract negotiations
- Ensure all agreements comply with business objectives, policies, and commercial terms
Training and Support
- Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to merchants on systems, tools, and best practices
- Enhance merchant capability to maximize product and service utilization
Market Intelligence
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, regulatory developments, and customer preferences
- Translate market insights into actionable business strategies
Problem Solving
- Act as a primary escalation point for merchant issues
- Resolve concerns promptly to maintain strong and sustainable partnerships
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of merchant activities, contracts, performance metrics, and partnership progress
- Prepare periodic reports for management review

Merchant Onboarding Strategy
- Decision: Define onboarding processes and criteria for new merchants
- Rationale: Assess merchant business models, product offerings, and platform compatibility to prioritize merchant types, streamline onboarding, and introduce tools that improve integration efficiency
Merchant Segmentation and Prioritization
- Decision: Determine priority merchant segments based on growth potential, market trends, and strategic goals
- Rationale: Segment merchants by industry, revenue size, or geographic location to focus resources on high-value opportunities and drive sustainable growth
Contract Negotiations
- Decision: Negotiate pricing structures, commercial terms, and contractual conditions with merchants
- Rationale: Balance profitability and competitiveness by setting commission rates, service fees, incentives, and payment terms aligned with business objectives
Performance Metrics and KPIs
- Decision: Define and monitor key performance indicators for merchant evaluation
- Rationale: Select KPIs such as transaction volumes, revenue contribution, growth rates, and service utilization to assess merchant performance and guide strategic decisions
