Internship Details

Position: Artificial Intelligence (AI) Intern
Location: Arusha
Duration: 01 April 2026 – 30 September 2026
Internship Length: 6 Months
Compensation: Stipend provided according to GIZ internship policy


Key Responsibilities

The AI Intern will support the project team in research, coordination, and knowledge management activities related to the regional AI ecosystem.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct background research on AI policy, governance, and innovation ecosystems in East Africa and globally.
  • Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements with regional institutions and development partners.
  • Support preparation of briefing notes, presentations, concept papers, and project reports.
  • Contribute to knowledge management systems and results-based monitoring of project activities.
  • Track developments in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and emerging technology governance worldwide.
  • Assist in producing communication materials and knowledge products related to AI initiatives in the region.
  • Strengthen knowledge sharing and collaboration within the regional AI ecosystem.

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the project supervisors.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Educational Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following or related fields:
